ARROYO GRANDE — CALIFORNIA58 LOCAL. Arroyo Grande is advancing plans for a roundabout where Huasna Road, Corbett Canyon Road, Crown Hill Road, Stanley Avenue and East Branch Street converge. The city says the project is intended to improve traffic flow and safety at a complex local junction.
Project details
The preliminary concept envisions a single-lane roundabout with pedestrian crossings, a mountable central island and splitter islands that guide vehicles into the circular roadway. Final design may change through engineering and public review.
The city lists the project as being out for design services and provides a way for residents to request notices on future steps. No verified construction start, opening date or final traffic arrangement appears in the current project overview.
Roundabouts can alter speeds and turning conflicts, but their benefits depend on geometry, user behavior and surrounding streets. Pedestrians, cyclists and people using mobility aids should have opportunities to assess how proposed crossings work.
Funding is anticipated through Transportation Facilities Development Impact Fee resources. Residents should watch for completed designs, environmental reviews and subsequent council actions before treating the proposed configuration as final.
