ARROYO GRANDE, San Luis Obispo County — October 25, 2026. Road resurfacing is underway in Arroyo Grande as part of the city’s latest pavement management program. According to the City of Arroyo Grande’s official project description, construction began in September 2026, and the current overlay project is expected to run into February 2027. That target is a projection, not a guarantee of a completion date for any individual street.
Which streets are included?
The city identifies the Hillcrest neighborhood, Tiger Tail and nearby streets, Vard Loomis and nearby streets, Rodeo Drive, the remaining portion of Stagecoach, Huasna Road, and most streets in the Woodland neighborhood for the current project. A neighborhood’s inclusion does not mean every block will close on the same day. Residents should use the city’s project map and street-specific information before planning travel or parking.
Three streets need more substantial repairs
Testing showed that a standard asphalt overlay was not enough for Woodland Drive, Creekside Drive and Virginia Drive, the city says. Those roads are slated for more substantial pavement rehabilitation after the current overlay work. This is a change in the treatment needed, not evidence that the three streets have already been reconstructed.
Why some streets are scheduled before others
The pavement program explains that engineers consider pavement condition, project geography, repair costs and available funding. In some cases, timely work on a less deteriorated road may prevent a considerably more expensive reconstruction later. Arroyo Grande reports that Measure E-24, approved in November 2024, provides much of the available funding for the city’s pavement maintenance.
October 27 City Council meeting
Separately, the municipal calendar lists a City Council meeting for Tuesday, October 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at 215 East Branch Street. The calendar alone does not establish whether the current paving project will be on the agenda. Residents should review the posted agenda or contact City Clerk Jessica Matson at jmatson@arroyogrande.org before assuming an item is scheduled.
The city’s pavement program page also includes a street-by-street schedule extending into future years. The city cautions that future-year paving dates can change with costs and available funds.
